There’s a process to getting your podcast on Google Home.
I’ll break it down in just a minute.
Yesterday, I told you I’d explain the process of getting your podcast or Flash Briefing onto Google Home, so let’s get to it.
There are basically two things you need to do:
1. Put an alt link in your podcast website’s header that points to your RSS feed,
2. Put a link in your RSS feed that points to your podcast website URL.
That’s it. But be aware there’s no timetable on how quickly it will show up on Google Home. It’s usually a few months.
But I’ve found that adding my podcast webpage to my Google Webmaster Tools account speeds up the process. Doing this, I’ve had them show up in as little as 3 days or as long as 3 1/2 weeks.
Once it’s live, you just say, “Okay Google, open the [Your Podcast Name] podcast.”
This is worth the time to get set up. But if you want me to set this for you, let me know and I’ll get right on it.
