Want to clear your Alexa Voice Recording History?

I’ll tell you how in just a minute.

Hey it’s Jeff Smith, the Alexa Guy. Thanks for listening.

This week, I spoke at an event in Orlando and a question came up about Alexa recording everything you say.

As I’ve said before, Alexa doesn’t record everything you say. She’s just listening for her “wake word” to begin assisting you. At that point, she records your request.

But from time to time, you can go into your Settings history on the Alexa ap and see everything she’s recorded. You can even delete anything you want by tapping the recording and selecting Delete voice recording.

You can even clear your entire history at once by going to amazon.com/myx. Just select your Echo from the device list and delete all recordings.

We all need to be in charge of our own safety online, and Alexa is no different. But Amazon gives us the tools to decide for ourselves what to delete and what to keep.

Thanks for listening and check out my website at AlexaGuy.com.
